The Composite SmartBoom is a strong lightweight boom, designed to maximise your spraying efficiency

It features a mid-mounted, self-levelling boom for optimum handling and weight distribution. Standard sizes range from 10m up to 20m, with larger sizes custom built.

The Composite SmartBoom is made from steel, aluminium and carbon fibre.  This produces an extremely light weight and strong boom, with booms up to 75% lighter than a traditional steel boom.

The self-levelling mechanism and wing pivots are made from steel for the best fatigue resistance.  The inner wings feature a mixture of aluminium and carbon fibre, whilst the outer wings are predominately carbon fibre, with aluminium mounting brackets.

This design provides a strong boom towards the centre, where strength is critical and weight is not such an issue, and an extremely lightweight boom towards the outside where weight is critical.

The modular design of the Composite Boom means that virtually any size is easy to manufacture, and any damaged components can be easily replaced in the field.

The key to the booms high strength and low weight is the structural boom tube.  Whereas a traditional boom has a bolt on boom tube, that adds weight, but not strength, the carbon fibre boom tube forms part of the structure of the boom.

As with all Graytill booms, the Composite Boom features shielded nozzles, electric fenceline nozzles and ball bearing breakaways for consistent breakaway force and low impact on return.
